September Meeting 

 Had a great time writing on dark paper with gold. Ann Bain, President , and calligraphy instructor guided us in mixing the right amount of Gum Arabic and water to the dry pigment to use in our pens.   Join us for our next meeting, Thursday, October 6 at 7pm.

We had a great meeting -- our last till Thursday, September 8.    Here are some pictures of the fun. We exchanged white elephant bags and then made weather grams which were originally inspired by  Lloyd Reynolds.   Visit our new Facebook page-- The Guild of the Golden Quill!!!

May Meeting-2016

We had lots of fun. Each member brought a bag of scraps--  such as  collage paper,  feathers, ribbons, and fabric.   We exchanged bags and had to create a piece using as many of the bits and pieces as possible.   Here are some pictures of the activity!

April 7--Great Meeting and fun with Gelli  Printing

 Gelli printing works. well for book covers and borders when designing a piece for calligraphy.   It is used all the time for art journaling,

but rarely as a support for writing. 

We had  a great meeting on Thursday, March 3. Rosie Huart   presented the program on making small books. The covers were created with Paste paper and lots of textural tools.      The following pictures show the covers in progress and some of the unusual tools to make marks in the paste!

The program for the evening is using a gelli plate printing process in combination with calligraphy.   Come and have some fun. Bring a few small sheets of hot press watercolor paper.
