The Guild of the Golden Quill had  great fun last evening creating interesting Covers for our  Calligraphy  Journals. We used everything from cocktail napkins to  unique collage papers.  Here are some of the photographs. We welcome new members who live in the Dayton area.   Come and join us the first Thursday evening of the month.

Last meeting until the Fall!!

We had a closing potluck dinner on June 7, our last gathering until September.  Peggy demonstrated  a technique where you create flowers out of  Yupo paper. She also showed how you can write on the petals with Fine Tek  paints.   It would make a lovely gift!!  Some of the pictures from last evening are posted below.  

MEMBER NEWS-- Our President, Ann Bain will be a speaker June 21st at the Green County Historical Society.  Ann will also be a participant August 3 from 5-8 pm at the Downtown Dayton First Friday.

 We had a wonderful calligraphy meeting in May. The program was called The Kitchen Sink and was given by Jane Halliwell.  She showed the group how to create interesting  artistic under-paintings suitable for writing.   Here are a few examples:

April  5, 2018    Illuminated Letters

We had lots of fun last night. Rosie Huart is a local artist/instructor and she presented a program on Illuminated letters.   I have posted the  pictures below.    We welcome new members!   Our next meeting is  Thursday, May 3 at 7 pm.
